Hunter Mountaineering

Yesterday I met up with David, who is here for the weekend to get in a little winter climbing. He specifically wanted to do a route in Glencoe, so this morning we headed to the Glencoe car parks, and we managed to get the last space! Glencoe was very busy today! We walked up knowing that we would find queues on most routes. When we got to the coire, I counted 13 people in or queueing for Twisting Gully. SC Gully was so busy that a team abseiled out of the crowd after a different leader crossed over their ropes! There were ‘many’ teams on Dorsal Arete. There was only 1 team high on Reaburn’s route, so we headed for that via NC Gully.

We had a great day of solid neve, and good conditions. The wind wasn’t quite as strong as forecast, and the visibility was much better than the forecast suggested – so all in all, another brilliant day, thank you David.
