What We Offer
Charities are constantly looking for innovative ways to raise money – and many charities are now seeing the benefit and appeal of exciting activities that can be inclusive for most participants. A Charity Abseil is the perfect solution. The event can be run over 1, 2 or even 3 days, dependent upon the number of participants. When you tell us where the abseil is (for example the head office of the charity?), then we will come in and organise the initial site visit, risk assessments, insurance, photos, and all equipment. On the date of the event itself, we will be running the abseil ourselves, and on a bigger event we may employ additional carefully selected, not just suitably qualified, but always highly qualified staff, to fit harnesses and helmets, or work in the periphery.
Private Abseil Events
More and more organisations, groups and companies are looking for the ‘next big thing’ – and an Abseil Event is just perfect. Not only is it a clever solution to raising money, but it is also fun, a perfect event for an anniversary, building launch, product launch, or just an opportunity to raise a profile in the media and more importantly – Social Media.
Our mission statement is to deliver a ‘Gold Standard’ carefully crafted abseil event, but also, and maybe more importantly, to deliver the highest level of client care – from the point of planning the event to the actual abseil experience itself, for each participant. Our starting point is our exceptional staff team – Mark, David and Max. Together we make a unique team. Our skills sets complement each other, enabling us to confidently be ambitious with our mission statement.

A visit to the site is usually required to write the risk assessments and work out the method of running the abseil event. This would be charged separately, usually at about £150 to £300 dependent upon the location of the site and the complexity of the site. The cost of your event will depend on several factors, including:
- the number of participants,
- the number of abseil lines used,
- the number of days of the event,
- how long it takes to rig the abseil (the day before, or the morning of the event),
- how many instructors and staff are needed.
An example costing could be from £1000 for:
- 50 participants,
- 1 abseil line,
- 1 day,
- abseil rigged the day before,
- 2 instructors needed.
Event Abseil is a Gold Standard Abseil Activity Company which is the result of a long standing working relationship between Mark Hendry, David Hormigo and Max Hunter. The idea was to create a company that would operate at the highest standard, the Gold Standard, facilitated by the qualifications that Mark, David and Max hold, alongside their joint experience in the industry. There are other companies who are able to provide Abseil Events, and these events are managed by staff who hold a particular award (often the MIA), which enables them to oversee the operation and the staff team. Each of Mark, David and Max individually hold the award above this level (the MIC, explained in Qualifications), as well as holding the industrial rope access award (IRATA Level 1), which makes them a uniquely qualified staff team. This gives Event Abseil the unique selling point of being able to deliver a standard of event, with associated planning, preparation, safety, and customer care, currently unrivalled in the industry. Between Mark, David and Max there is 70 years of teaching abseiling, climbing and mountaineering experience. Before Event Abseil, and even now, we are technical advisors to other organisations, and assess or mentor other individual Mountaineering Instructors.
