Mountain Walking, Navigation And Safety
Posted by Max Hunter on 24th April, 2016
Today I met Sasha, Hannah, Charlotte (Three Wise Monkeys Climbing) and Christine (and Nim) for a day to look at Mountain Walking, Navigation and Safety. The day was organised by Susan of Nevis Landscape Partnership, and was taken up by these 4 Volunteers. They all had a wide range of backgrounds and experience – and I think I learnt a few things from Christine who has just spent 33 years living/working in Nepal. They wanted a range of topics during the day from navigation, mountain safety/awareness, decision making, to leadership with less experienced people.
The arctic air was definitely with us today, but it was a terrific day in Glen Nevis, and there were plenty of people out enjoying the Glen.
