Stob Coire Nan Lochan

Today I was working for Atlas Mountaineering.
Today was my last of 3 days with Dilbinder, and the weather didn’t seem to be improving – in fact it wasn’t the alarm that woke me this morning but the drumming of the hail on the windows! When I met up with Dilbinder we spent longer than normal going through the planning, and eventually went for Glencoe and Stob Coire nan Lochan for a mountaineering adventure – hoping to miss the worst of the West Coast wind and rain. We got lucky, as did the other 3 teams sharing the coire with us. By the end of the day, back at the car, my waterproofs were completely dry and we had experienced only a little gusting wind (30-40mph?) on the coire rim and on the approach. It turned out to be a great day, in weather and on snow that was better than my expectations.
