Jagged Globe – Introductory Long Weekend
This morning the 8 strong team met with Alex, myself and an observer called Lena, to discuss the long weekend, and look at the weather ahead – and find out what to expect. Basically, today would be okay, Sunday – pretty awful and a relatively good day for Monday. With new Jackets zipped up we headed off to hope the Gondola would be running, but quickly moved to plan B and headed up towards snow slopes near the CIC on Ben Nevis. We spent the day introducing and practicing some basic winter skills – which also gave me lots of opportunities to slide about – brilliant. A few other winter skills teams used similar venues today, so it was a busy place. Several climbing teams were out – but I don’t know if they got anything done.
