Winter Skills Weekend

This weekend I am working for InMyElement, and students from the University of Limerick. My six students are on a winter skills / intro mountaineering weekend. We looked at lots of basic winter skills on a journey up to the Nid ridge where we got the ropes out. It was a great day with only a little wind every now and then (but still the snow was moving around). The snow is heavily iced at the moment (after the recent rain and thaw/freeze) in some places and covered in unconsolidated slab in others – a day for taking care.
