Over the weekend Jamie Bankhead worked on a Winter Skills course for Hunter Mountaineering with Christian, Birthe and Chris. Jamie has already put his photos up on his work facebook page (Glencoe Climbing).
This is what he wrote –
(Bear in mind that this is the same day that I was working for Glenmore Lodge, when we were only able to be outside doing snow anchors for 3 hours at an altitude of 550m)
‘Strong winds meant that we didn’t go much higher than the CIC hut, but found enough firm snow to practice step-kicking, cramponing and self-arrest. Lots of evidence of recent avalanche activity, but a bit more stable today.’
