Cummingston In The Sun

On Sunday we had a day of ‘active rest’ planned, before we head back out for the last part of the course. The day didn’t turn out to be actually a day of rest from climbing however, as we spent the day using all the resources of the Inverness Leisure Centre – climbing wall, gym and swim pool (+slides!). The routes at the wall may be short but they pack a cruxy punch!
On Monday we were back to the outdoor climbing. It was time for day 4 of the Foundation Climbing course (after our mini break to Ben Nevis and Glen Nevis). We carefully looked at the weather and found a place that would be dry – so we were off to Cummingston. The students did more top rope set ups, top roping, top rope lowers, work on gear placements, and a big dose of bouldering. Another great day on dry rock, and a good change of scenery.
