Climbing Near Dundonnell

The end of June was busy with a couple of days off, a day marshalling on Ben Nevis and the start of a RSF (Rock Foundation) course for the Army, based out of Dundonnell in Wester Ross, south of Ullapool. On day 1, for an introduction to the sport of climbing we went to a friendly sport climbing crag. The midges were ittitating but the climbing was okay, after a very wet start. By the afternoon the rock was dry, and the team were making good progress.
Tuesday last week was the premium weather day of the week, so working alongside Lawrie, we headed off to Raven’s Crag. The rock and the crag is excellent, the venue, with it’s outlook was stunning. We climbed Charlestone**, Lucy** and Jutting Blocks*, Leac McCac**, Ricicles** on The Dark Slab. I’ll definitely be back to this venue. After a couple of initial nerves on Raven’s Crag, everybody made great progress on The Dark Slab.
