On Tuesday I went to Duntelchaig, to introduce the team to easy multi-pitch-climbing. We had Drum (VD*) in mind. It was my first visit to the crag and it took me a few minutes to find an easy access route to the climb, so after ditching the bags at the base of ‘The Seventy Foot Wall’, we did the ‘walk’ up to the climb – which involved  a little ‘caving’. We broke the climb down into 4 pitches and on the way down we did a personal abseil down The Seventy Foot Wall.

The climb was an excellent intro to muti-pitch climbing, with comfortable belays and easy climbing.

Unfortunately on Wednesday there was rain forecast for all crags we could think of within driving distance, so we finished the course at the Inverness climbing wall. The team pushed themselves with bottom roping or leading. Some of the team nailed their first 6a leads.
