Learning To Lead
Posted by Max Hunter on 09th November, 2014
Last Wednesday I was working for the College in Fort William (WHC, UHI), and the second year students on the ATM degree course. It was an opportunity to get the 4 students out to dry (or even wet) rock and to develop their leading. The students had already led a few climbs before, but were needing to work on a few of the components of successful trad leading.
Doug MacDonald was able to come for some observation, prior to his SPA assessment, and he was able to help me during the day as well. The forecast was okay, but the midday shower did unfortunately make the rock wet again, and in the low temperatures, it never became bone dry again – but still everybody had a fun day. Thank you Doug for your help.
