Description
With this Private Booking, this is a professionally guided winter day walk, up the Ben Nevis Mountain Track (also known as the pony track or the tourist path) from a start point in Glen Nevis. You will meet your professional mountain leader for the day – who will lead you on your opportunity to climb the highest mountain in Great Britain – at 1345m above sea level.
The weather can often be 4 seasons in 1 day. We could have rain, sleet, snow and sunshine. Much of the upper mountain would be under snow, and the path may not be visible – so careful navigation is normally required.
The walk is 7.5km to the top, so a round trip of 15km. Ascent during the day of over 1300m. Unless you bring your own, winter equipment will need to be hired in Fort William – winter boots, crampons and an axe. Instruction on their use will, of course, be part of the day.
